Day, Evening, Night We are nowaccepting Spring/Summer 2025 Graduates! SUMMARY As a LicensedPractical Nurse in Hemodialysis, your specialized skill set andability to collaborate with the Registered Nurse is vital toexceptional patient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducts and documents athorough assessment of each patient’s medical status upon admissionand throughout the patient’s course of treatment.

• Assists in theimplementation of the patient’s treatment plan under the directionof the RN.
• Complies with the evaluation, treatment, anddocumentation guidelines of the department.
• Acts in compliancewith hospital, regulatory, and professional standards and policies.
• Maintains clinical currency by pursuing continuing educationopportunities.
• Administers IVP medications specific to dialysispatient population.
• Initiate and discontinue dialysis treatmentsusing multiple access sites including AV fistulas, AV grafts andCentral Venous Catheters (CVC).
• Clean and redress CVC skin sites.
• Draw Blood from CVC.
• Respond to CVC line separations.

REQUIREDQUALIFICATIONS

Graduate from an accredited School of PracticalNursing

OR ASN/BSN

in Nursing.

• Current New York State LicensedPractical Nurse license.
• Completion of the NYS Department ofHealth and NYS DOE approved training curriculum for LPN’s workingin Outpatient Hemodialysis Units (completed as part of unit basedorientation).
• Completion of the NYS DOH and NYS DOE approvedannual competency for LPN’s accessing central lines in ahemodialysis unit (completed as part of unit based orientation).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
