Setting:

Corrections Facility Shifts:

Days, Evenings, Nights Schedule:

3-5 shifts per week

Hours:

7am to 3pm or 3pm or 11pm or 11p-7a (Open to double 16 hour shifts)

Location:

Yaphank, New York or Riverhead, New York Responsibilities :

Administer Medications:

Dispense prescribed medications to inmates, including oral, injectable, and topical drugs, following proper protocols and documentation.

Conduct Health Assessments:

Perform routine health screenings and physical assessments upon intake and during incarceration to identify medical or mental health needs. Respond to

Medical Emergencies:

Provide immediate care in emergencies such as injuries, overdoses, or acute medical conditions until advanced medical help arrives.

Monitor Chronic Conditions:

Assist in managing inmates with chronic illnesses like diabetes, hypertension, or asthma by conducting regular check-ups and ensuring treatment adherence.

Maintain Medical Records:

Accurately document patient interactions, treatments, and observations in accordance with HIPAA and facility guidelines.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Solid assessment and documentation skills Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized
