LPN:
- Administers prescribedmedications and treatments in accordance with approved nursingtechniques.
- Provides accurate and descriptive records of medicaland nursing care of the residents.
- Assigns daily resident careduties to Nursing Assistants and Hospitality Aides, monitors andevaluates the delivery of care.
- Accurately transcribes andcarries out all physicians’ orders and assists with physicianvisits.
- Participates in resident care planning.
- Evaluates andis alert to the physical and psychological needs of the residentsand responds in accordance with proper nursing techniques andprotocol.
- Assists with admissions and discharges of residents.
- Assists in the management of Nursing Assistants and HospitalityAides.
- Assists with direct resident care as time andresponsibilities permit.
- Assists with carrying out physicianorders.
- Treats all information about residents, their condition,and family as well as personnel matters as confidentialinformation.
- Complies with established Corporate and Departmentalpolicies and procedures and maintains established standards andpractices.
- Performs other functions as directed by thesupervisor.
Our Requirements:
- Current and valid LPN license inthe state you will be providing care. If you are currently astudent in an LPN program, please see the Graduate Practical Nurse(GPN) position.
- Judgment capabilities, initiative, anddependability.
- Ability to read, write, and understand Englishwell.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, and turn frequentlythroughout the course of an eight-hour shift.
- Ability to lift 30pounds in assisting co-workers with resident lifts, transfers, etc.several times throughout the shift.
- Standing and walkingdistances constantly throughout the campus is required during theshift while evaluating residents and supporting line staff and (atapplicable facilities) responding to emergency needs of theRetirement Community.
- Ability to push a med cart in dispensingmedications.
- Ability to react quickly and decisively inemergencies and in unexpected behavior of residents.
- Ability tounderstand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability tocommunicate with residents at a level they can understand.
