The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, performing clinical tasks, and supporting the overall operations of our medical office. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient assessment, and nursing practices to ensure the well-being of our patients. Our office is small an independently owned. With this being the case, we tend to become close and reliant on each other. Our primary goal is to provide quality and effective care for our patients, we would like to make that a team effort to avoid taxing any one person. While what is listed below are primary duties, cross training is usually needed. Honestly, outside of billing itself, the Nurse tends to be able to do just about anything in the office traditionally. We tend to work with 2 clinical staff as there is always something to do. Duties Provide compassionate and accurate communication between patients and Medical Practitioners. This is done via telephone and in person. Preparing exam rooms and then rooming patients for Medical Providers and conducting thorough patient assessment while documenting the finding accurately. This includes vital sign evaluation at minimum, but also the use of standardized evaluative forms. Perform clinical diagnostic and treatment tasks such as: EKG, PFT, nebulizer administration, ear canal flushing, bandage change/wound care, setting up for and assisting with in office surgical interventions, and blood draws with proper handling of blood/urine/tissue samples and cultures. Schedule diagnostic testing for our patients which may include obtaining insurance authorization. Scheduling referrals to specialists for our patients. Approval and submission of basic, ongoing prescriptions for patients calling in for refills. Sending in new medications or medication changes as directed by Medical Practitioner. Medications may require obtaining prior authorization. Providing Medical Records for other Medical Providers when asked or when needed for other instances, ie. insurance audit, referral and similar. Assist with basic life support procedures and emergency interventions as needed. Utilize eClinicalWorks software for patient documentation and management. Maintain accurate records using ICD-10 coding for diagnoses and CPT coding for treatments within your scope. Provide education to patients regarding their health conditions and treatment options. Ensure compliance with occupational health standards and protocols within the office setting. This will include management of vaccines from the private stock and our VFC program. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety regulations. Requirements Valid nursing license in PA Experience in an office setting is preferred but not mandatory. Proficiency in basic life support techniques. Familiarity with medical terminology and patient assessment skills. Knowledge of eCW software is a plus. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team. Commitment to providing compassionate care to all patients.
