School Nurse (LPN) Montessori Academy of Chambersburg 875 Ragged Edge Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202

Job Description:

Licensed Practical Nurse Hours:

M-F, 8:15 am – 3:00 pm, school year only PTO, plus time off during scheduled school holidays and breaks. Seasonal employment, school year only. The Montessori Licensed Practical Nurse performs any and all duties and procedures that are permitted by licensure in the state of Pennsylvania. The nurse is supervised on a daily basis by the Director of Operations and Advancement and works under the guidance of a certified school nurse from the Chambersburg Area School District. Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse
• Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid
• The ability to work well with others
• The ability and commitment to attend work regularly
• Effective written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills Duties and Responsibilities
• Initiate, maintain, and update student medical and health records and databases on an on-going basis
• Maintain and update student immunization records
• Provide basic first aid and emergency care to ill and injured students
• Assist with screenings and examinations in collaboration with the Chambersburg Area School District school nurse
• Maintain student sign in logs for all visits to the health room
• Perform and document accurate vital signs on students seen in the health room
• Assist in maintaining a clean and healthful environment
• Administer medications according to Pennsylvania nursing standards of practice
• Monitor and share updates from the Pennsylvania Department of Health
• Maintain confidentiality of the health room setting
• Interact with children in a kind, courteous, and respectful manner
• Discuss any student or staff concerns with school administration in accordance with Academy policy
