JobDescription:

Contributes data to the assessment, planning,implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Promotes adaptiveresponses of patient/family to achieve the highest level of patientcare, promote safety, and maximize patient satisfaction. Exhibitscompassionate care during patient-nurse interactions. Coordinatespatient care and interaction of staff. Meets the qualifications toprovide care for patients in their assigned unit.

  • Contributesdata to assessments as established by scope of practice and unitstandards.
  • Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural,and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout the continuumof care.
  • Reinforces patient and family education, family needsand discharge planning throughout hospitalization.
  • Providesdirect patient care including, treatments, medications, anddiagnostic studies according to policy and procedure.
  • Evaluateseffectiveness of nursing interventions and plan of care based uponpatient response to interventions.
  • Initiates collaboration withphysicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary teammembers and takes action to proactively resolve and facilitatepatient needs.
  • Participates in unit-based decision-makingregarding the utilization of evidence based practice.
  • Providesinput to the manager for performance appraisals of care deliveryteam members.
  • Precepts and mentors new staff and students in aprofessional, positive manner as assigned.
