The Assistant LPN Wellness Director supports the Wellness Department by assisting in overseeing resident health and wellness programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supervising direct care staff. This role provides leadership in medication administration, resident assessments, staff training, and quality assurance, fostering a positive environment aligned with Sacred Heart Senior Living’s mission and values. The Assistant Wellness Director collaborates closely with the Administrator and Wellness Director to maintain high standards of resident satisfaction, staff performance, and regulatory adherence.
QUALIFICATIONS
A.
Education:
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License in Pennsylvania B.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in assisted living, personal care, or healthcare setting, with supervisory or leadership exposure preferred C.
Certificates/Licenses:
- Current LPN License
- Valid Driver’s License
- Current CPR certification
- Criminal Background Clearance
- Medication Administration Certification (if applicable) D.
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong organizational and supervisory skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Proficiency in computer systems and documentation
- Ability to evaluate resident needs and monitor health status
- Ability to assist with personal care, medication management, and emergency response
- Leadership qualities, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Physical ability to perform required duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs, walking, standing, and kneeling
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1.
Resident Care & Assessments:
Assist in conducting initial and ongoing assessments of residents; support the development, review, and updating of individualized care plans in compliance with DPW regulations. 2.
Medication Oversight:
Support medication administration procedures, including training staff on medication assistance, insulin, glucose testing, and emergency medication protocols. Ensure MAR documentation accuracy and medication safety checks. 3.
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:
Assist in maintaining compliance with Chapter 2600 PCH regulations, completing required forms (e.g., MA51, mobility assessments), and tracking certification and training requirements. 4.
Staff Supervision & Training:
Support the orientation, ongoing education, and supervision of direct care staff. Participate in staff meetings, monitor performance, and provide feedback to ensure high-quality resident care. 5.
Quality Assurance & Safety:
Assist in implementing infection control protocols, incident reporting, and resident safety programs. Support the development of quality assurance initiatives and risk management strategies. 6.
Resident Satisfaction & Communication:
Facilitate ongoing communication with residents, families, and medical providers regarding health status, care plans, and satisfaction surveys. Participate in Resident Care Conferences. 7.
Emergency & Critical Response:
Support emergency procedures, including accident/injury investigations, staff response, and reporting to the Wellness Director and Administrator. 8.
Operational Support:
Assist in staff scheduling, maintaining staffing levels, and managing supply inventory. Support in purchasing approvals and departmental budget adherence. 9.
Team Collaboration & Leadership:
Collaborate with the Administrator, Wellness Director and other department leaders to ensure a cohesive approach to resident wellness and staff performance. 10.
Other Responsibilities:
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Wellness Director or Administrator to support departmental and organizational goals.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations as needed.
- Ability to participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and community events.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident, staff, and organizational information.
