- Growth opportunities Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) isresponsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment,diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) toprovide individualized nursing care to residents.
Collaborates withresident and family, other inter-disciplinary colleagues, includingproviders, to plan, implement and evaluate care. Demonstratescompetency and practices within the full scope of nursingexpertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and populationspecific standards as designated in their assigned clinicalsetting. Cares for residents in all phases of preventative care,health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment. Responsible for thecoordination of care, resident assessment, resident education andvarious other nursing interventions. May serve as charge nurse anddelegate appropriate tasks to license and unlicensed assistivepersonnel that are within the job descriptions, skills, residentcare needs, and the competence level of the delegate. Providesadequate assistance and support to delegates to ensure safe,reliable administration of resident care and resolution of care andservice concerns. Functions within the scopes and standards ofnursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act andAdministrative Rules in state of practice and licensure. TheProfessional Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards ofPractice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with InterpretiveStatements as published by the American Nurses Association as thefoundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct.
Qualifications Graduate from a nationally accredited nursingprogram preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission onCollegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission forEducation in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for NursingCommission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred. Currently holds anunencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where thepractice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistatelicensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains andsubsequently maintains required department specific competenciesand certifications.
