Description Job Summary:
A Licensed Practical Nurse who will be responsible for assisting the RN and other team members in direct and indirect patient care. This nurse will be responsible for transcribing, administering and performing procedures ordered by a LIP for patients of all age groups. This nurse will demonstrate excellent communication skills to all members of the health team while demonstrating competency in the safe and effective care of the patient.
Education:
Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Minimum 6 months experience in nursing field

1 year hospital experience Position Requirement(s):
License/Certification/Registration Required:
Current license to practice nursing in Tennessee. BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward

Will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit. Will demonstrate safe practice and competency on performing/administering medications and or procedures ordered by a LIP. Possess interpersonal skills which ensure effective communication with patients, families and other members of the health care team. Possess knowledge of EHS, stat, federal and
JCAHO/DNV
standards and/or regulations pertaining to patient care. Responsible for direct and indirect patient care. Possess knowledge of current trends and new developments; knowledge of principles and practices of nursing applicable to those areas requiring special education.
