Description Job Summary:

An LPN Inpatient is responsible for direct and /or indirect care of the patient under the direction of an RN.

Education:
Required:

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.

Preferred:

Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills: knowledge of organizational functions, policies, and regulations: knowledge of current trends and new developments: knowledge of principles and practices of nursing, applicable to those areas requiring special education.

Position Requirement(s):

License/Certification/Registration Required:

Current licensure privileges to practice as a Licensed Practice Nurse in the state of employment. BLS and ACLS completed prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward IV certification within six (6) months of hire. De-escalation training/certification (example: CPI) within 6 months and maintain ongoing thereafter

N/A An LPN Inpatient in the Emergency Department is responsible for direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The LPN Inpatient is responsible for providing age specific care through triage of initial complaint; the ongoing assessment, evaluation, and treatment of perceived, actual or potential, sudden or urgent, physical or psychosocial problems that are primarily episodic or acute. Resolution may require minimal care or life-support measures, patient and family education, appropriate referral, and knowledge of legal implications. Duties include but are not limited to the implementation of BLS protocols, the re-assessment of patients, administration of pharmacological drugs as ordered, performance of procedures (as certified/credentialed), and operation of medical equipment necessary for patient care as assigned. Patient assignments may vary from day to day.
