Certified/Registered Medical Assistant Knoxville- Dayshift (Mon-Friday) – 2 years of Experience-License and Certification Mandatory The Medical Assistant (MA) will assist healthcare providers throughout the clinic with various duties including patient chart preparation, appointment coordination, patient communication, and clinical tasks. This role requires a strong team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a professional environment. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain patient charts, including insurance, registration, correspondence, laboratory and radiology reports. Track and request patient records, slides, and films, and document as necessary in the charts. Schedule and coordinate appointments, scans, and tests; confirm appointments and notify appropriate departments of daily and weekly patient schedules. Receive incoming calls to assist patients, physicians, and others with patient-related matters; relay diagnostic test results to patients per physician’s discretion; conduct follow-up phone calls to patients with problems and ‘no-shows’. Perform blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, and weight measurements on each patient; alert physician of any abnormalities. Room patients and record medical history prior to being seen by the physician. Maintain medical supplies in each exam room and office supplies in the clerical area. Handle pre-certification and referrals (experience required). Communicate with home health and infusion clinics as needed. Shift Monday – Thursday / 8:00am-4:30pm Friday / 8:00am-3:00p
