PositionSummary:
As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, providesdirect patient care to patients in accordance withapplicable scopeand standards of practice.
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONSUnder the direction ofan RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting datafor analysis by anRN.Performs plan of care interventions, includingspecimen collection and wound care. May administermedication.
Documents patient care given.
Assists RN with development of plan ofcare.
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living,including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition,andambulation.
Monitors, documents, and communicates patient’sstatus and reactions to interventions with RN, physician,patient,and families.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum EducationHigh schooldiploma or equivalent requiredRequired SkillsRequires criticalthinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work withminimal supervision. Must beable to work in a stressful environmentand take appropriate action.
