Essential Functions:

Treat, direct, and/or refer students for the following: Nebulizer Treatments, Care Plans, Assessments, Suctioning, Catheterizations, Diabetic Monitoring, Medication Administration, Ventilators, Tracheotomy care, G/J-Tube Feedings, Insulin Pumps, etc. Review student medication orders and ensure appropriate doses Monitor student medication administration and student service/care appointment records weekly and notify parents of what is provided Update Executive Director of any medication errors Keep student records in locked location that provides privacy of information and consult with student’s primary Physician when needed Aid in development of and follow Individual Health Plans by collaborating with medical diagnosis and physician orders and update IHP when needed Provide onsite hearing and vision screenings and assist with wellness exams Respond to student emergencies Complete report of monthly activities, which may include staff in-services, referrals, office visits, student and staff emergencies and medication self-administration Maintain, monitor, and document student compliance for screenings and health related absences Document referrals of students to clinics and follow-up on outcomes for emergency purposes Provide referrals to students requiring follow-up care for injuries and disease management

Minimum Requirements:

Must hold an active and unencumbered nursing license in the State of TN (Required) Current and active First Aid, BLS/CPR, and AED (Required) Must meet all federal and TN state requirements to work as an LPN in a school setting Minimum of 2 years of working experience as LPN/LVN (Required) Previous experience working in pediatrics (Required) Previous school-based LPN/LVN experience is a plus Bilingual (fluent in Spanish and English) is a plus
