JOB SUMMARY

As supervised and delegated by a physician or mid-level provider, provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Reports to:
Practice Operations Manager FLSA:

Non-exempt

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Under the direction of an Provider, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care. May administer
medication. Documents patient care given.
Assists RN with development of plan of care.
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Monitors, documents, and communicates patient’s status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.
  • Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS.
  • Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary.
  • Accepts all call schedule as directed.
  • Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education

Licenses:

Current and active Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Tennessee.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) (may be obtained within first week of orientation, before patient care)

Licenses:
