University of Florida Department of Recreational Sports
The Department of Recreational Sports is currently looking for a Massage Therapist to join our energetic team and move Gators toward lifelong wellbeing! Massage Therapists at the Department of Recreational Sports are provided with room, electric massage table, sheets, oil, and a laundering service. Therapists will also have access to RecSports marketing channels and materials for promotional opportunities. Therapists are provided access to all RecSports facilities, fields, and programs, including group fitness, weight and cardio rooms, Lake Wauburg, intramural sports, and more!
RecSports Team Members Responsibilities
Develop professional relationships with co-workers, participants and guests.
Uphold and exceed the expectations of the

Cornerstones of RecSports Service:

accountability, anticipating needs, attitude, and atmosphere.
Demonstrate a desire to learn and knowledge as a RecSports ambassador.
Take ownership of RecSports facilities and programs by exhibiting a responsible work ethic.
Promote and maintain cleanliness and appearance within and surrounding RecSports facilities.
Enforce RecSports policies and procedures to promote participant safety and satisfaction.
Respond to all emergency situations and adhere to established protocol including pre- and post-incident procedures.
All RecSports employees are expected to abide by the RecSports Student Staff Code of Conduct that clarifies shared expectations and standards in effort to best serve our patrons, develop each team member, and prepare student employees for future career endeavors.
RecSports Fall Kick-Off 2025: Tuesday, August 19
Fall Kick-Off is our all staff event to discuss department-wide updates, facilitate unit training sessions, as well as cultivate community and positive energy within our RecSports team. All RecSports Student Staff are expected to attend and will be paid for their training time. Please mark your calendars as this is mandatory for all staff! In addition, please hold your calendars for August 15-20, 2025 for mandatory unit-specific trainings. Unit Specific Job Responsibilities
Provide Massage Therapy modalities to clients within the scope of the State of Florida Massage Therapy license.
Maintain a clean work environment including treatment areas.
Monitor Massage Therapy materials (sheets, oils, etc.), keeping treatment rooms well stocked at all times.
Provide directions and information to valid users and guests regarding facilities and programs.
Answer main phone lines and direct calls to appropriate personnel, take Massage Therapy reservations, and answer facility or program inquiries.
Learn the responsibilities and tasks required of the supervising positions.
Contribute to the promotion of the Massage Therapy Program with regards to activities, events, programs, and off-site services.

ADVERTISED SALARY

$30 per hour

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

State of Florida Massage Therapy License and proof of professional liability insurance
First Aid, CPR, AED certification or ability to attain it within the first week of employment.
Interest in health and wellness, recreation, fitness, and campus involvement
Availability to work shifts as well as by appointment, including weekend hours.
Availability to work three permanent shifts, at minimum, each week.
Complete and maintain UF online certifications in

GET803, OOC101, PRV802, ITT102, GET811

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANTS

Applicants ing for this requisition may be hired as either Student Assistants or OPS employees. If hired, applicants who are full-time University of Florida students will be hired as Student Assistants; all other applicants will be hired as OPS employees.
This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.
This is a time-limited position.
