Medical Assistant MedRenew Clinic 4600 Hwy 280, Birmingham, AL 35242 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and caring Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Our focus is on the treatment of Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses with patients nationwide. It is a clinic with strong team work and a positive environment. The ideal candidate will be compassionate with highly complex patients. This position requires a proactive individual who is eager to learn unique treatment protocols and manifestations of this chronic illness. The clinic is structured to see a lower volume of patients to spend sufficient time reviewing their chronological history and outlining a very detailed, customized treatment plan Duties Assist healthcare professional in performing clinical tasks, including taking and recording vital signs. Assist with prior authorizations for insurance companies Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers to enhance the patient experience. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment. Preparing patient charts prior to appointments with ensuring laboratory studies and imaging are in the chart. Performing triage with patients nationwide with complex medication questions or concerns. Assisting in prescription authorizations from the provider. Qualifications Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent experience in a clinical setting is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and coding practices is beneficial. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Familiarity Primary Care or Internal Medicine is advantageous. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate records. Must be able to demonstrate patience and empathy towards patients while providing high-quality care.
