Medical Assistant Alabama Neurological Surgery and Spine Birmingham, AL 35243 Job Description We are a busy and well-established neurosurgery practice seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our dedicated healthcare team. Essential Functions:
Room patients and record vital signs. Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during neurological exams and minor procedures. Perform basic clinical tasks as directed. Manage EHR documentation efficiently ( experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) a plus ). Coordinate referrals, imaging, and surgery scheduling. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment. Deliver excellent customer service with attention to detail and professionalism.
Requirements:
Previous experience working in a healthcare setting required. Neurosurgery experience is a plus, but not mandatory — we are willing to train the right candidate! Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Ability to multitask and work both independently and in a team environment. Reliable transportation is required. Positive, can-do attitude and professional demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in medical environment, or other healthcare-related fields. Familiarity with eClinicalWorks (eCW) or other EHR systems.
