Medical Assistant Alabama Pain Physicians 2868 Acton Rd, Birmingham, AL 35243 Alabama Pain Physicians is a comprehensive pain management practice committed to improving the quality of life of our patients. We utilize cutting edge technology and advanced procedures to establish an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan to ultimately minimize pain and increase function. We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant with 1-3 years of clinical experience to join Alabama Pain Physicians. This role is ideal for someone who has developed a strong foundation in patient care and is ready to take on more responsibility in a specialized clinical setting. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working closely with patients experiencing chronic or acute pain.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for procedures, take and document vital signs, and update EMR records Review medications, allergies, and pain levels with patients during intake Maintain clean, organized exam and procedure rooms, and ensure proper instrument sterilization Schedule follow-ups, referrals, imaging, and pre-authorizations as needed Handle urine drug screens and document results according to clinic protocol Support the front office team with check-in, check-out, and appointment coordination when needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting (pain management or specialty preferred) Familiarity with EMR systems CPR/BLS certification (or willing to obtain upon hire) Strong interpersonal and communication skills Comfortable working with patients in chronic pain with empathy and professionalism
Preferred Skills:
Experience assisting with in-office procedures or injections Knowledge of common pain management medications and protocols Understanding of HIPAA and proper documentation practices
