Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant Central Arkansas Gastroenterology Clinic Little Rock, AR 72205 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this dual role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support while also assisting with clinical tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a passion for patient care, ensuring that our office runs smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing a welcoming atmosphere in the office. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate documentation and scheduling. Handle phone calls, respond to inquiries, and relay messages promptly. Maintain patient records with attention to detail, utilizing electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth and Epic. Assist with medical coding and documentation review, ensuring compliance with ICD-10 standards. Support health information management by organizing and maintaining patient files. Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence. Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate efficient patient care and communication. Utilize software tools like GMed and Athena for scheduling appointments and managing patient information. Qualifications Previous experience in a medical administrative support role is preferred. Familiarity with electronic health record systems (Athenahealth, GMed) is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical coding practices (ICD-10) is a plus. Proficient in computer skills, including the ability to navigate various software applications efficiently. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. A compassionate approach to patient care with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Certification as a Medical Assistant or relevant training is advantageous but not required. Some travel required.
