POSITION SUMMARY
The Physician Office Medical Assistant reports to the Manager, CorpCare and is responsible for direct patient care and medicalscreening to include history taking and various procedures(phlebotomy, audiograms, breath alcohol, pulmonary function etc.).Also responsible for assisting the physician in a variety ofclinical and clerical duties as needed
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program orequivalent.
EXPERIENCE
At least one (1) year medical officeexperience is preferred. One (1) to three (3) months of on the jobtraining will be provided.
COMPETENCIES
Must have excellentcustomer service interpersonal skills and be knowledgeable ofwindows based software programs such as WORD and OUTLOOK ispreferred. Must have access to reliable transportation to travelbetween multiple work sites; and travel is required in order toperform essential duties.

Job-Specific Competency Takes and documents vital signs, recordsvision screenings and notes other required procedures according topolicy. Completes initial patient assessment for all injuriesaccording to standards as evidenced by chart review. Completesdischarge process by instructing patient in work restrictions,medication directions and side effects, and scheduling follow upappointments. Completes chain of custody form and drug screencollections according to protocol with no more than 1 error permonth. Collects phlebotomy specimens as requested, demonstratingproficiency in all phlebotomy techniques with no more than oneincident of supervisory counseling per review year. Performancillary medical testing (pulmonary function, EKG, audiograms,vision screening, respirator fit testing) according to departmentprocedures with no more than 2 errors annually. Completes initialpatient assessment and chart intake for all injuries according todepartmental standards. Assists with procedures as documented bysupervisor and physician feedback 9. Maintains patient rooms in aclean, orderly and well stocked manner. Works closely with clinicalteam leader and other staff members to ensure timely patientprocessing for each clinic visit Researches patient files for MD,patients, Insurance reps, Client company, or others whennecessary
