This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of building a practice from the ground up and contribute to providing exceptional care to our patients. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, compassionate, and detail-oriented individual with a strong commitment to patient satisfaction. Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Front Office & Administrative Support:
Answer incoming phone calls professionally and efficiently, directing inquiries appropriately. Input new patient referrals accurately and in a timely manner. Schedule patient appointments, ensuring optimal flow and provider availability. Follow up on medical records requests to ensure timely receipt of necessary information. Manage the physician’s calendar, scheduling meetings and appointments as needed. Send patient statements/invoices and assist with billing inquiries. Create and update patient intake forms as required. Check insurance eligibility and benefits prior to patient office visits.
Clinical & Surgical Support:
Assist with scheduling surgeries, coordinating with patients, hospitals, and surgical centers. Initiate and manage pre-authorizations for procedures and medications. Monitor and respond to patient portal messages in a timely and professional manner. Send office notes and relevant patient information to referring providers.
Patient & Insurance Communication:
Comfortable and confident speaking with insurance companies regarding patient benefits, pre-authorizations, and claims. Effectively communicate with patients, addressing questions and concerns with empathy and clarity.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience is highly desirable as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a surgical office or hospital setting. Prior experience with pre-authorizations and insurance verification is a strong plus.
Language:
Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred.
