Full Job Description Clinical Assistant Job Description:
The clinical assistant plays a vital role in not only partnering with the team members of the practice, but also in creating strong relationships with our patients. We believe in professional, dedicated, and independent team members that not only help the business grow but continue to grow with us.
Clinical Assistant Daily Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service that exceeds expectations
- Be proficient, caring, and accommodating to patients and providers
- Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests such as drawing blood and checking vital signs such as blood pressure, weight, temperature, pulse, and respirations
- Record patient history and summary confirming purpose of patient visit
- Field calls, check in-baskets for messages or prescription refill requests, and assist with patients as needed
- Complete necessary paperwork, precertification, or test scheduling
- Draw blood and bag/tag labs
- Prepare patient rooms each morning and clear rooms at end of day
- Wash linens and gowns
- Empty garbage, stock rooms, and complete housekeeping tasks such as autoclave cleaning or recording refrigerator temperatures
- Provide cross coverage for front desk or alternate staff during vacation or sick days
- Other duties as assigned Qualifications Required for
Clinical Assistant:
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited program (RMA/LPN/RN)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other parties in a courteous and professional manner
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Firm understanding of medical practices and administrative processes
- Working knowledge of patient care and examination procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPPA compliance Preferred Qualifications for
Clinical Assistant:
- Previous customer service skills
- Proficient in working within an Electronic Medical Record
