Medical Assistant Duties:
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling insurance forms (Prior authorizations and Referrals)
- Take patient medical histories and vital signs
- Assist healthcare providers with examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing
- Perform basic laboratory tests
- Conduct electrocardiograms (EKGs) and other diagnostic tests
- Prepare and clean examination rooms before and after patient visits
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of patient information
Skills:
Medical Assistant (MA) certification (preferred)
- Performing venipunctures and injections (IM, SC)
- Proficiency in medical terminology and basic medical procedures
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems
