Full Job Description Job Description:
Works under the clinical supervision of the practice physician(s) and office manager and is responsible for assisting the physicians in the practice. Scheduling appointments, checking patient’s in and check-out. Assists in examination and treatment of patients, interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e.: pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information on patients’ charts. Also draws and collects blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Lastly, obtain prior authorization/referral for visit and or procedures.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma, Certificate of Completion, GED or equivalent training or experience required. Must have at least one of the following required licenses/certifications (MA, CNA, LPN, EMT). Medical Assistants with a Certificate or Diploma of Completion of a Medical Assistant training program. BHSF to obtain Medical Assistant Certification. BLS required for all. For Primary Care Practices, EKG and Phlebotomy Certifications are also required.
HIPAA/OSHA
compliance required. Must be professional, organized, and a detail-oriented team player with effective interpersonal communication skills and excellent customer service skills. Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, co-workers and practice manager. Bilingual preferred English/Haitian-Creole/ Spanish.
