GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Responsibilities include all back-office functions including direct patient relations, preparing patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs, preparing exam and treatment rooms with the necessary

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO
1. Work at the medical assistant desk/area, greet and communicate with patients and providers. 2. Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs. 3. Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and/or supplies 4. Properly cleaning and disinfecting all areas in compliance with OSHA regulations. 5. Prepare and perform injections, lab testing and phlebotomy. 6. Assist physicians/providers in preparing for minor procedures and physicals. 7. Filing, printing, scanning, and retrieving medical records/files. 8. Copying, scanning, and faxing duties. 9. Entering charges, payments, and balancing the day in the system. 10. Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct and Employee Handbook. 11. Perform other duties as required. 12. Must read, understand, and adhere to all Pinnacle Healthcare System policies and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Knowledge of basic office equipment including copier, fax machine, telephone system and computer. 2. Skill in dealing with interpersonal issues and customer relations. 3. Ability to handle multiple priorities at once with minimal supervision. 4. Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions. 5. Ability to organize and communicate clearly 6. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information. 7. Ability to work in a changing environment while maintaining excellent customer service skills. 8. Ability to have compassion towards diverse patient population
EXPERIENCE
• One year of applicable medical assistant experience in a patient care setting
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE
• Active RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA or MCRMA certification
