CLINICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE MEDICAL ASSITANT.
This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing administrative support while maintaining a focus on patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, Insurance Referrals and clinical procedures, particularly in the areas of internal medicine, geriatrics, and primary care medicine. Responsibilities Conduct initial patient assessments, including taking vital signs and gathering medical histories. Inform Patients of recent lab and imaging results. Patient scheduling, ensuring timely appointments and follow-ups. Verify patient benefits and collect co- pays. Maintain accurate patient records , including coding for billing purposes. Perform Venipuncture, Lab specimen processing, injections, EKG’s, spirometry and other minor procedures. Handle incoming calls and inquiries with professionalism and empathy. Support the administrative team with various tasks as needed to enhance office efficiency. Perform Chronic Care Management Phone calls with Patients.
CREATE AND PROCESS REFERRALS TO SPECIALISTS CREATE AND PROCESS PRIOR AUTHORIZATIONS FOR MEDICATIONS
Experience
EXPERIENCE WITH MEDICARE CAPITATED AND VALUE BASED CARE ENVIRONMENT, WILL BE AN EXTREME PLUS
++ Previous experience in a medical administrative role is preferred, particularly within internal medicine, Primary Care, or geriatrics. Knowledge of
BASIC LEVEL
medical coding is beneficial for this position. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for managing multiple tasks effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
