Summary:
Assist the physicians and nurse with the care of patients in each office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensure a patient-centered environment. Answer phones as needed. Prepare rooms for the day. Escort patients to room; prepare patients for examinations. Record height/weight and blood pressure for well visit; chart and graph findings in EHR. Ask parent or patient about chief complaint and document. Prepare for upcoming patient visits with proper paperwork, if necessary for the visit. Perform vision and hearing screening as necessary. Assist doctors as needed with sick visits, as well as well-child visits, school or camp physicals, and paperwork preparation as needed. Clean and restock rooms and equipment. Assist as needed with securing referrals and making specialist or test appointments. Relay messages as may be required by physicians. Assist at front desk as necessary with phones and filing. Obtain blood samples if certified by finger stick or venipuncture. Prepare for urine culture and analysis. Prepare for and run strep tests and all other laboratory tests. Assist doctor and nurses with procedures. Copy charts and reports as needed. Record immunizations in EHR for upload in to Florida Shots. Order and stock supplies. Scan and file nurse and visit notes. Responsible for the upkeep and security of laptops and any other equipment. Keep clean surrounding common work areas, waiting room, and lavatories. Participating in quality improvement work.
