Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cardiology Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team at Ascent Cardiology . The ideal candidate will assist cardiologists in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and delivering outstanding support to both patients and providers.
Responsibilities:
Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document medical history. Assist with EKGs, stress tests, Holter monitors, and other cardiology-related procedures. Schedule patient appointments, referrals, and follow-ups. Verify insurance information and obtain prior authorizations. Answer phones, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries. Maintain and update patient records in the electronic medical records (EMR) system. Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available. Educate patients on medications, lifestyle modifications, and follow-up care. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality. Support the cardiology team with any additional administrative and clinical duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) required.
Experience:
Previous experience in a cardiology or medical office setting preferred. Experience with athena health EMR strongly preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency in EMR systems, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Language:
Bilingual (English and Spanish) required.
