Front Desk Receptionist/Medical Assistant Advanced Podiatry Specialists 3300 SW 33rd Road, Ocala, FL 34474 Job Overview We are seeking a highly organized, friendly, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Hybrid Front Desk Receptionist & Medical Assistant. This dual role is essential to the smooth operation of our busy podiatry practice. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both administrative and clinical tasks, providing exceptional patient care and ensuring efficient office management. The ideal candidate will also be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional service and support in a busy podiatric office environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression. Manage appointment scheduling and confirmations for patients, utilizing office management software. Handle incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information and directing calls as necessary. Maintain patient records accurately, including updating care plans and ensuring compliance with ICD-10 coding standards. Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence. Collaborate with podiatric staff to ensure smooth office operations and patient flow. Address patient inquiries regarding services, insurance, and billing procedures effectively. Uphold confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations in all patient interactions. Assist the podiatrist with various clinical tasks, such as wound care, application of dressings, and minor surgical procedures. Provide patient education and instructions as directed by the podiatrist. Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality. Assist with other clinical tasks as needed. Skills Strong patient service orientation with excellent communication skills. Familiarity with ICD-10 coding is preferred but not mandatory. Experience in office management within a medical or dental setting is highly desirable. Proficient in phone etiquette and capable of managing high call volumes efficiently. Knowledge of medical administrative support functions and receptionist duties is beneficial. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing individual responsibilities effectively. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain accurate records and schedules.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification or diploma preferred. Proven experience in a medical office setting, preferably in podiatry (or willingness to learn). Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask effectively. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Practice Fusion (or willingness to learn). Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.
