Practice Manager Position Overview Dovetail Orthopedics requires all team members to provide exceptional customer service. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for performing both clinical and administrative tasks for the practice. The role will support the physicians by assisting with patient care and ensuring efficient practice operations. As a member of the practice team, the Medical Assistant will be required to help at the front desk, revenue cycle and practice marketing. Key Responsibilities Administrative Duties Participate in patient scheduling, registration, and insurance pre-authorizations. Proficient in scheduling surgeries and providing patient education. Maintain knowledge of practice management and electronic health record software. Inventory management of DME and other supplies. Be sure that exam rooms are properly stocked. Participate in marketing activities as needed. Clinical Duties Prepare exam rooms and assist physicians during patient examinations. Obtain and document accurately patient histories, vital signs and chief complaints. Work with patients on sizing orthopedic devices such as splints, boots and braces per instructions of physician. Assist with diagnostic imaging procedures (X-Ray, CT, Ultrasound) and prepare patients accordingly. Follow sterile techniques and assist during injections and minor surgical procedures. Educating patients on orthopedic care instructions, pre-op and post-op protocols and medication usage. Patient Relations & Satisfaction Provide a high standard of patient care, communication and customer service. Escalate unresolved patient concerns to the office manager. Ensure accurate patient records and invite patients to sign on to the patient portal. Compliance & Regulatory Understand and comply with HIPAA Security and Privacy and other related state and federal regulations.

Qualifications Education :

High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Experience :

2-3 years of experience in a medical practice, preferably in an orthopedic or specialty care setting.

Certifications :

CPR certification required. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.

Technical Skills :

Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems, practice management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Other skills:

Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills Physical Requirements Able to function in a fast-paced clinical environment. Ability to sit, stand, and move around the office for extended periods. Occasional lifting of files, equipment, or supplies up to 20 pounds.
