M-F Job Profile Summary The Medical Assistant 2 is the first point of contact for patientcare. Responsible for administrative duties in addition to patientcare. The Medical Assistant 2 performs varied activities andmoderately complex administrative, operational, and customersupport assignments. Typically works on semi-routineassignments. Job Description The Medical Assistant 2 performs clinical duties such as discussingsymptoms, obtaining vital signs, medication/vaccine administration,phlebotomy, collecting specimens, performing diagnostic screeningtests, sterilizing/cleaning equipment, maintaining examinationrooms, and documenting information into the electronic medicalrecords system. Collaborates closely with Physicians and AdvancedPractice Providers. Delivers direct patient care dependent on whatactive certification allows. Decisions typically focus oninterpretation of area/department policy and methods for completingassignments. Works within defined parameters to identify workexpectations and quality standards, but has latitude overprioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Followsstandard policies and procedures that allow opportunity forinterpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion. Additional Job Description Required Bilingual proficiency in English and Creole – must pass proficiencyexam prior to foreign language communication Successful completion of MA school/training program or aCertified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experienceand approval from Provider High school diploma or equivalent CPR Certified This role is considered patient facing and is part of the company’sTuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, youwill be required to be screened for TB Preferred PCP exp.
