Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant Brain & Nerve Center Orlando, FL 32837 Immediate opening for seasoned Medical Receptionist / Medical Assistant Summary of Job duties include: Answering phone, scheduling patients, checking patients in and out, verifying insurance benefits and eligibility, posting charges, sending out claims, appeal claims, following up with insurance on outstanding charges, obtaining referrals and authorizations. Previous experience in a medical office required. Previous experience with
EHR / EMR
preferred. Ideal candidate has good verbal and written communications, friendly with great interpersonal skills.

Details of Responsibilities:
> Greet patients with a smile and introduce self. > Resolve patient requests, questions and complaints > Problem solving skills > Efficient and multitasking and good time management > Provide prompt and accurate service so as to promote patient loyalty. > Excellent communication skills and problem solving abilities. > Answer telephones; transfers call to appropriate staff. > Take messages and place them in designated area. > Obtain accurate patient demographic information and Pharmacy of choice. > Copy insurance cards/driver’s license. > Keep patient apprised of wait times. > Collect applicable co-pays, collect previous outstanding balances, post charges, insurance follow up, post payments, assist billing department in all aspects. Verify patient insurance coverage. > Accurately schedule all patient appointments. Record all cancellations and No Show’s; send “No Show” letter. For scheduled patients – maintain a “quick call” list for cancellations. > Process incoming referrals, verify insurance eligibility and benefits. > Process incoming and outgoing faxes > Medical record requests > Perform a variety of duties associated with referring and linking patients to other specialists or institutions for additional medical care. > Track all referrals and diagnostic orders to ensure compliance with established protocols. Perform other duties as assigned or necessary. > Must have excellent knowledge of insurances in the area and their referral requirements. > Knowledge of billing insurances, appeal claims and post insurance payments. > Perform other office duties as required > Other medical assistant responsibilities
Experience:
2 years of front office experience required including Electronic Medical Records. Exceptional customer service skills. Previous Medical office experience required. Must have knowledge of health plans and their referral requirements. Some Medical billing experience will be a plus.
Special Skills:
Proficient with ICD 10 and CPT procedure codes. Exemplary attendance and punctuality is required. Working knowledge with
EHR / EMR
preferred. Work denials and correct claim and resubmit Foreign Medical Graduates are welcome to apply
