Medical Assistant Pathways To Wellness Foundation Inc West Palm Bch, FL 33406 Medical Assistant We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our Mental Health Office. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care within a dynamic medical environment. This position involves working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient flow and support in various clinical settings, including a Level I Trauma Center and specialized departments such as Dermatology. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for both clinical and administrative tasks, contributing to the overall success of our patient care services. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers in delivering patient care, including preparing patients for examinations and procedures. Perform basic life support (BLS) as needed and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Collect and document patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information. Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians. Conduct X-Ray procedures when applicable, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling insurance documentation. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment. Support inpatient care by assisting with daily activities and monitoring patient conditions. Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy to assist in various medical procedures effectively. Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes. Provides support with operating the mobile health clinic vehicle. Any other duties as designated by the supervisor. Requirements Previous experience in a medical assistant role or relevant healthcare setting is preferred. Knowledge of PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) protocols is a plus. Familiarity with systems used for electronic health records (EHR) is advantageous. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Strong understanding of anatomy and medical terminology related to various specialties, including Dermatology. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members. A compassionate approach toward patient care with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Regular in-office attendance is an essential function of the job.
