Description
Center for Bone & Joint Surgery of the Palm Beaches is a multi-location medical practice devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of injuries and diseases of the body’s musculoskeletal system. Our locations feature a staff of highly trained orthopedic surgeons, each with a specific area of expertise.
Center for Bone & Joint Surgery of the Palm Beaches offers a team approach to your care and provides a variety of services right on campus designed for your convenience and ensuring an outstanding continuum of care. These include on-site X-ray, on-site MRI, on-site physical therapy, and aquatic therapy.
As Center for Bone & Joint Surgery of the Palm Beaches continues to grow, we are looking for a Bilingual (Spanish) Medical Assistant. Please see below for the functions and requirements for this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Facilitates communication between the patient and the provider during patient care:
Collect and shares pertinent information with the provider
Receives and acts on directives from the provider
Responsible for preparing the patient for visit with the provider. Duties include but are not limited to, rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vitals, reviewing intake paperwork, pulling up radiology images, removing dressing, procedure set-up, injection prep, accurate data entry into EMR. Responsible for completing tasks associated with Company initiatives such as PROs, Quality Payment Programs, etc.
Maintains exam room standards. Rooms should be restocked at the end of each clinic day. Rooms and tables should be cleaned as needed during clinic and at the end of each day.
Monitor biohazard and sharps containers and replace as needed.
Assist the provider in preparing patient prescriptions and completing medical and patient forms (i.e. work release, FMLA, etc.).
Retrieves and responds to voicemails within 24 business hours and documents actions in EMR.
Prepares patient electronic charts for clinic visits prior to the date of service.
Verify any outstanding testing results are in EMR, confirm the appropriateness of the patient to the provider (body part and/or insurance), note imaging, DME, or casting needed prior to provider visit on the date of service.
Scans clinical documents into EMR.
Print clinic schedules on the morning of the date of service.
Ensures patient receives education as indicated by the provider.
Manages EMR desktops of assigned providers in a timely manner.
Create and promote a positive patient experience
Maintain HIPAA compliant environment
Maintain clean workspace
Bilingual Spanish a must
