The candidate for this available MA position must be a certified medical assistant, and be a high school graduate with experience utilizing an EMR/practice management system, have a positive attitude, be punctual, and have an interest in growing professionally as our company is growing quickly. This individual will predominantly be supporting the clinician in exam rooms, but will have to be comfortable with cross covering the front desk. Job duties and

Expectations:

Understand the equipment used in an office lab, such as automated test machines, logging refrigerator and freezer temps, etc. Medical supply inventory Maintain cleanliness and organization of lab Assist with managing patient flow and appointment schedules Prepare and stock exam rooms, clean and sanitize between patients and at end of the day Understands, and can assist with new patient paperwork Organized with ability to multi-task Rooming patients to include vital signs, weights, medication review, etc. Proper documentation and updating of medical records Assisting with medical procedure such as injections, ear lavage, basic dermatological procedures, suturing, splinting, etc. Calling patients with lab results or test results under the direction of the provider. Obtaining appropriate consents for treatments Ability to triage patient calls regarding medical complaints, medication refills, referral questions, etc. Maintain HIPAA guidelines, OSHA, Biomedical Waste Other requirements are: Proficient in computer skills Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records, basic phone system use Critical thinking skills a must; ability to prioritize The employee should be a team player and strong written and verbal communication skills Hours are Monday through Friday 8 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. Saturday we are open for sick visits only from 8 A.M.-10 A.M., which will be alternated between staff on average 1 Saturday per month Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time
