Medical Assistant Nova Medical Services Lakeland, FL Overview Nova Medical Services is expanding into a new sector, providing top-tier care across various points of service (POS). We are seeking a bilingual ( English/Spanish ) Medical Assistant who thrives in dynamic environments, has strong organizational skills, and is proficient with computers and electronic medical records (EMR). This position involves rotating weekly through different specialties and working with multiple providers across clinics, ALFs, and nursing homes. Responsibilities Travel to assigned locations—including clinics, assisted living facilities (ALFs), and nursing homes—to support Nova Medical Services’ providers in the Brandon, St. Petersburg, Lakeland, and Tampa areas. Assist in delivering high-quality care across different specialties, including internal medicine, geriatrics, and more. Perform routine clinical tasks, such as: Taking and recording patient vitals. Preparing patients for examinations and treatments. Administering injections, immunizations, or medications as directed by providers. Collecting and processing lab specimens. Performing basic diagnostic tests (e.g., EKGs, spirometry) when needed. Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system. Manage patient records and assist with scheduling follow-ups and referrals. Maintain clean and organized workspaces, ensuring equipment and supplies are stocked at each site. Serve as a liaison between providers and patients to ensure smooth communication. Adapt to the unique needs of each POS and specialty rotation. Provide culturally competent care to a diverse patient population. Adhere to all Nova Medical Services policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) preferred but not required.
Skills and Experience:
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (required). Proven ability to work in diverse healthcare settings (clinics, ALFs, nursing homes). Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficiency with computers and EMR systems (experience with [insert specific EMR software if applicable] is a plus). Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to work with various providers and patient demographics.
