Job Description

Medical Administrative Assistant 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars 6050 Cattleridge Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34232 We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Administrative Assistant to support a busy surgeon in a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive attitude. This position requires a professional demeanor, as you will be interfacing with patients, medical staff, and other professionals in a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage daily administrative tasks, including scheduling and booking appointments for the surgeon, managing calendars, and coordinating meetings. Serve as the primary point of contact for the surgeon’s team, vendors, and patient inquiries, providing exceptional customer service and support. Assist in preparing and processing medical documentation and reports. Knowledge of billing and coding procedures, and authorization processes. Support the surgical team with necessary documentation and follow-up communications. Communicate effectively with patients, addressing inquiries and providing information about services and procedures. Perform general administrative tasks including managing correspondence, answering phone calls, and manage email communications related to the surgeon’s team. Learning and understanding of technology used during surgery as a resource for the surgical team and patients.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity. High school diploma required; additional education or certification in office administration is a plus.
