Job Description
Medical Assistant Sunshine State Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center 12497 South Tamiami Trail, North Port, FL 34287 Dermatology Medical Assistant We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced dermatology medical assistant to join our team. As a dermatology medical assistant, you will provide support to our dermatology team. You will be responsible for preparing procedure trays, assisting with procedures, taking patient histories, documenting patient information, and educating patients on skin care. Responsibilities Providing assistance to the physician and mid-level practitioner through coordination of the patient visits and perform designated procedures with excellent patient care. Scribing visits for providers, dictating notes with providers in EMR system Taking patient histories and document patient information Returning patient calls Preparing procedure trays and assist with procedures Prepping and assisting numerous surgical procedures such as Mohs, ED&Cs, shave/punch biopsies, I&D and others. Educating patients on skin care Assisting with patient follow-up and communication Assisting with cosmetic and surgical procedures Maintaining a clean and organized work environment Processing RX refills and submits prior authorizations. Work Experience Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent EMR experience preferred Dermatology experience preferred
Qualifications:
Medical assistant certification required Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Attention to detail and ability to multitask Knowledge of electronic health records preferred We offer competitive compensation and benefits packages, including health insurance, paid time off.
