Our practice, specializing in general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medical Assistant. This position is in a team-oriented dynamic practice where our patients are always our number one priority.
Position Overview:
The dermatology Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care within a dermatology practice. This position involves assisting dermatologists and dermatology providers with various clinical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations and high-quality patient interactions. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for dermatological health.
Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Support:
Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments. Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment. Record patient medical history and other relevant medical information. Assist with dermatological procedures such as biopsies, cryotherapy, and skin testing. Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the provider exam. Prepare and administer medications as directed by a provider. Collect, log, and prepare laboratory specimens. Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies. Wound checks and suture removals.
Patient Care:
Educate patients on skin care, treatment plans, and post-procedure instructions. Address patient questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy. Ensure patient comfort and safety during their visit.
Administrative Duties:
Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirmations, and follow-ups. Handle medical record documentation and ensure accurate and confidential data entry. Handle patient communications. Collaborate with the Patient Services team to optimize provider schedules and coordinate patient flow. Coordinate care with other facilities Administrative duties related to clinical tasks, i.e. scanning, filing, chart prep, etc. Operational Efficiency Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment. Order and stock medical supplies and equipment. Sterilize surgical instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 2-years experience in dermatology or a related field. Solid knowledge of dermatology and cosmetic medicine terminology.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA) preferred.
Skills:
Strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and proficiency in medical practice management software.
