Medical Assistant DHG Medical Centers 1020 North Tamiami Trail, Nokomis, FL 34275 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting patient care within our facility, whether in an outpatient setting, urgent care, or at a Level I or II Trauma Center. This position requires a strong commitment to patient service and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety. Perform routine administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records. Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment. Collect and document patient medical histories, vital signs, and other pertinent information. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and concerns with professionalism. Support emergency medicine protocols when necessary, demonstrating calmness under pressure. Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to ensure seamless patient care. Exhibit knowledge of anatomy to assist in various medical procedures effectively. Knowledge of HEDIS Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and emergency medicine practices. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. Experience working in outpatient settings, urgent care facilities, or hospitals is highly desirable. Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent is a plus but not mandatory.
