Part-time or Full-time Job Description Join our growing practice at Suncoast Wellness & Urgent Care! Our team is looking for Medical Assistant to contribute to our expanding business. We are rapidly growing in the Lakewood Ranch Community and require a Medical Assistant who is dedicated to providing quality care to our patients. Our practice supports both walk-ins for Urgent Care, as well as regularly scheduled appointments for Primary Care. The ideal candidate will have clinical primary care experience. Our clinic’s hours of operations are from 8am to 5pm, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sat, as well as 12am to 8pm Tuesday and Thursday. We are closed Sunday. Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care to patients in a wide range of activities including but not limited to maintaining patient records, obtaining and recording patient vital signs, performing venipuncture and non-intravenous injections, observing and reporting patient’s symptoms, and assisting staff with patient examinations as needed
- Preparing and cleaning patient rooms, operating office medical equipment, collecting routine laboratory specimens as directed, performing basic laboratory procedures, general administrative duties and performing basic first aid as necessary
- Other duties include scheduling patient appointments, answering phones and returning voicemails, assisting with coding, billing and contacting insurance companies, and pre-authorizations
- Excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills, and time management skills Requirements
- High School Diploma Required
- Medical Assistant Education preferred
- 1 year experience in Medical setting
- Experience in medical billing, coding and working in an EMR system
- Able to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and other medical assistants
- Clinical Experience in the following areas preferred:
Urgent Care, Emergency Care, Family Care, and Alternative Medicine Job Type:
