Medical Assistant Position Available In Sarasota, Florida

Medical Assistant Intercoastal Medical Group Sarasota, FL 34232 Intercoastal Medical Group, Inc. is seeking Medical Assistants for our growing practice. General office hours are Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm. For additional information about Intercoastal, visit www.intercoastalmedical.com.

Full-time opportunities:

• Lakewood Ranch offices: Primary Care, Allergy, Neurology and float positions
• Sarasota offices: Primary Care, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, Neurology and float positions.

Part-time/PRN opportunities:

Float positions (may be scheduled to work in any office in Lakewood Ranch and Sarasota); hours are not guaranteed. Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

• Triage patients: vital sign intake, medication reconciliation, review of allergies and social history, chief complaint
• Assist the provider with in-office procedures (ex. biopsy or physical exam)
• Administer medications and/or vaccines under the direction of the supervising provider
• Assist with prescription request renewals
• Enter orders under the direction of the supervising provider
• Assist with incoming clinical messages; and contact patients via phone or patient portals
• Document clinical findings and notes in the electronic medical record system; and may schedule follow-up appointments when needed
• Obtain insurance authorization for medications and/or diagnostic tests or procedures
• May be required to provide coverage within office or float to another office when needed

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Current Medical Assistant Experience (for select positions)
• Current Medical Assistant Certification (required within 1st year of employment)
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program (preferred)
• Current CPR Certification
• Strong Computer Skills
• Basic HIPAA Knowledge Intercoastal is a drug free workplace and EEO compliant.
