Certified Medical Assistant Alliant Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center 8620 E County Road 466, The Villages, FL 32162 We are an expanding, patient-focused dermatology practice seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our growing team. The Dermatology Medical Assistant (MA) supports providers in delivering high-quality dermatologic care to patients. This includes preparing patients for exams and procedures, documenting patient information, assisting with dermatologic treatments (such as biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, Mohs), and ensuring smooth clinic operations through excellent communication and clinical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and room patients, obtain and document patient history, vital signs, medications, and chief complaint. Prepare exam rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures such as skin biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and Mohs. Assist providers during medical and cosmetic dermatology procedures. Apply dressings, provide wound care education, and give post-procedure instructions to patients. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR (electronic medical record). Handle specimen collection and labeling for pathology or laboratory analysis. Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards. Educate and give instructions to patients on skincare routines, post-op care, medications, and sun safety when appropriate. Voicemails, provided feedback, answers to patient/provider and pharmacy. Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies. Assist with inventory of medical supplies. Ensure patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA and OSHA guidelines. Must be able to travel between all locations and work with all medical providers across these locations. Daily upkeep of clinical areas All other duties as assigned by clinical supervisor, officer managers or other designee.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Certification (CMA/RMA) preferred but not always required. Previous dermatology or specialty practice experience highly desirable. Knowledge of dermatology terminology, procedures, and skincare products a plus. Proficient with EMR systems (e.g., EMA). Strong communication, multi-tasking, detail oriented and organizational skills.

$18.00 – $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
