The role you’ll contribute:
The Medical Assistant – Non-Certified, under close supervision, provides appropriate care to patients as well as follows AdventHealth service standards. This includes safely and effectively greeting patients, obtaining clinical information, financial and demographic information. Responsible for assisting providers during treatment and examination and may assist with procedures and medication administration as ordered by the provider upon successful completion of necessary competencies. Performs office duties as needed; which includes but is not limited to, verifying insurance, collecting copays and scheduling necessary appointments.

Completes onboarding competency validation prior to any invasive (CLIA labs etc..) procedures
Rooms patient and completes screenings, history taking, vital signs, medication reconciliation, and other relevant intake needs.
ComplieswithofficepolicyandproceduresforOSHA,CLIAandInfectionPreventionstandards.
Supportsthedevelopmentofstaffteamworkbybeingwillingtoassistpatients,visitorsandco-workers when necessary to facilitate a smooth workflow.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
Minimum qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent
Completion of an approved MA training program within the last five (5) years ORminimum of 6 months experience working as a Medical Assistant OR A minimum of 6 months clinical experience within the past 3 years such as:
Firefighter/Medic EMT
CNA
Nursing student, program in progress
Ophthalmologist Technician
BMO
Noncertified MA
Pharmacy Technologist
Or an equivalent clinical role
Current, valid BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Required to obtain certification within 90 days of employment by one of the following:
American Association of Medical Assistants (“AAMA”) for Certified Medical Assistants (CMA)
American Medical Certification Association (“AMCA”) for Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC)
American Medical Technologists (“AMT”) for Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
National Association for Health Professionals (“NAHP”) for Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
National Center for Competency Testing (“NCCT”) for National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
National Healthcareer Association (NHA) for Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
American Registry of Medical Assistants (“ARMA”)
