This role requires clinical knowledge, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to accurately assess patient needs to ensure timely and appropriate care. Key Responsibilities Perform initial telephone assessment of patient symptoms and concerns to determine urgency of care needed Use established Gastro MD protocols to prioritize and route patient calls to appropriate clinic resources Document patient concerns, symptoms, and relevant medical history in the electronic health record Coordinate same-day appointments for urgent gastrointestinal issues Communicate effectively with Gastro MD physicians and nurse practitioners regarding patient needs Provide basic education to patients about common GI conditions and preparation instructions Follow up with patients as directed by providers Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations Qualifications Strong knowledge of gastrointestinal conditions, symptoms, and medical terminology Proficiency in electronic health record systems Excellent telephone communication skills and professional demeanor Ability to make sound judgments regarding patient care priorities Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work collaboratively with Gastro MD clinical and administrative staff Schedule Full-time, Monday through Friday Occasional weekend rotation may be required Benefits Competitive salary Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Continuing education opportunities Retirement plan with employer matching after one year of employment Join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals at Gastro MD committed to providing exceptional gastrointestinal care to our community.
