Medical Assistant Georgia Bone And Joint Surgeons Pc 15 Medical Dr NE, Cartersville, GA 30121 As a medical assistant at Georgia Bone and Joint Surgeons, this position performs a wide variety of duties and responsibilities in a manner that places emphasis on quality of care and customer service. The employee must work collaboratively with all staff in support of direct patient services, exhibiting. flexibility and a “can-do” attitude. Patient care is the key priority in this position requiring the MA/Floater to serve as a point of contact with other internal and external departments, all with the goal of fostering an environment which promotes patient comfort and trust. The position must exemplify the core values and mission of our organization and always exercise the utmost discretion, diplomacy and tact in patient and staff interactions.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Travel:
Ability to commute to satellite office as needed. Room patients, obtain vitals, patient history and reason for seeking care. Process telephone messages. Follow prescription refill procedures. Maintain patient records confidentially. Assist provider with patient education pertaining to their ongoing health care. Cast removal and assisting provider with cast application. Suture and staple removal. Knowledge and adherence to all universal protocols for bloodborne pathogens and communicable diseases. Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols. Maintain work area, exam rooms, supplies, and medications. Perform basic triage per specific office protocol procedures. Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times. Adhere to employer work practices as described in Georgia Bone & Joint Surgeons Employee Handbook. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and management. Effectively cope with typical job stress. Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Tech CPR certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted, including assisting patients when required. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift. Being able to comfortably stand/walk for 8-10 hours per shift.
Sitting/Standing:
Extended periods of sitting and/or standing in an open office environment
Handling:
Normal office activity including, keyboarding, interacting with others, participating in meetings, extended periods of sitting and/or standing in an open office environment, use of headset or telephone for extended periods of time.
Repetitive motion:
Frequent and regular use of the wrists, hands, and fingers to make small movements such as typing or picking up small objects. Normal fine and gross motor control of fingers and hands.
