Medical Assistant
Savannah, CA Description We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Medical Assistant to support a fast-paced environment. Will prepare patients for provider visits, take vital signs, height and weight, perform ECGs when ordered, perform phlebotomy as needed. Assist providers with physical examinations, keep exam rooms clean and stocked, maintain medical supply inventory. Assist providers with patient face to face inquiries or telephone calls for follow up care.

Other duties include:

Schedule patient appointments and follow up on missed appointments. Perform medication pick up as directed by providers.
Collect venipuncture samples per Department protocol and provider plan of care. Collect hemoglobin and/or glucose finger sticks as ordered, collect urine specimens, send specimens to laboratory for processing. Perform basic laboratory tests on site.
Assists coworkers in assuring all in-house lab results are placed in patient record in a timely manner.
Maintain confidential patient records, complete Release of Information with patient consent, scan patient medical information.
Practice Infection Control, use Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) appropriately, follow universal precautions and aseptic technique/guidelines.
Maintain a clean working environment, maintain cleans and stocked exam rooms and Lab room.
Disinfect exam tables.
1+ year Medical Assistant experience
Prefers a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Phlebotomy experience, knowledge of right techniques required
Willingness to learn new procedures & processes
Highly preferred: exp with referral processing
