CarePlus Urgent Care is looking to hire full-time highly talented Medical Assistants who will deliver exceptional care and customer service to patients in a fast pace, high energy urgent care setting. The Medical Assistant is a key member of CarePlus Urgent Care who works in conjunction with medical providers, as well as other dedicated clinical and office staff members. Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Greet patients, take vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature), and document medical histories. Prepare patients for examination and assist with minor procedures. Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician/advanced practitioner. Perform diagnostic tests (e.g., EKGs, urinalysis, blood glucose testing and x-rays if qualified). Collect specimens for lab testing and ensure accurate documentation. Maintain patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Ability to fulfill scheduled shifts including every other weekend.
Patient Education:
Provide patients with instructions regarding follow-up care, medications, and treatment plans. Answer patient questions and direct them to appropriate resources when needed.
Administrative Duties:
Schedule and coordinate patient appointments with specialists as needed and handle check-in/check-out procedures. Assist with billing and insurance verification as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment.
Qualifications:
Education/Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or other recognized certifications) preferred. Current CPR/BSL card.
Experience:
Prior experience in an urgent care, emergency room, or medical office setting preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care protocols.
Skills:
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and patient-centered approach. Proficiency with EHR systems/medical software.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods, lift, and perform tasks that require manual dexterity.
