The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our internal medicine department by providing exceptional patient service, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office. This position requires a strong understanding of physiology, medication administration, and medical-surgical practices. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety. Perform medication administration as directed, including inhalation therapies. Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records. Conduct basic life support (BLS) as needed in emergency situations. Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and other pertinent information. Support coding processes for accurate billing and insurance claims. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment to ensure compliance with health regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and outcomes. Qualifications Previous experience in a medical assistant role preferred, particularly in an internal medicine or medical-surgical setting. Knowledge of physiology and medication administration protocols is essential. Proficient in patient service skills with a focus on empathy and communication. Familiarity with coding practices for medical billing is advantageous. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required or must be obtained within the first month of employment. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism.
