Essential Functions Communication:
Clearlycommunicate with patients seeking care through various modalities,including telephone and in-person interactions.
Patient Care:
Assist the provider in gathering information relevant to thepatient’s visit and condition under the direction of the Clinician.
Collaboration:
Work with cross-functional teams to collaborate onpatient care, ensuring attention to detail and follow-through.
Radiologic Exams:
Perform radiologic exams that produce qualityimages while ensuring patient and staff safety by following properprotocols, correct patient positioning, and effective use ofequipment.
Emergency Response:
Recognize emergent patientsituations and respond quickly and appropriately.
Documentation:
Thoroughly and accurately complete all required documentation,including time stamps and image storage.
Environment Maintenance:
Maintain a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients andstaff, ensuring that supplies and equipment are stored in anorganized and efficient manner.
Education and Training:
Pursueindividual education and career development opportunities,emphasizing new procedures and equipment, and assist and instructstudents and other XRay Techs in exam protocols, procedures,positioning, and equipment. Must be obtainedprior to start date. Successful completion of an accredited MedicalAssistant Program or 1 year of Medical Assistant Experience or hasa current RN/LPN license Limited Scope Radiographer LicensePreferred Qualifications Current national MA certification from oneof the following national MA certifications or registrations:
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National CertifiedMedical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant(CCMA), or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA.Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
Physical Requirements:
Physical Requirements Ongoing need foremployee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs,operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequentinteractions with patient care providers, patients, and visitorsthat require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear andunderstand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quicklyand accurately, particularly during emergency situations. Manualdexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicateequipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequentcomputer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessingneeded information, medication preparation, etc. Expected to liftand utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will alsobend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typicallyincludes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients andobtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includespushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavyitems. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full ofequipment, power cords on the floor, etc.) May be expected to standin a stationary position for an extended period of time.
For rolesrequiring driving:
Expected to drive a vehicle which requiressitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and othervehicles.
